Students from the Media, Journalism and Music courses participated in new intensive NNBC radio training course which covered how to research and perform interviews, plan a new show, and record a pilot.
The training course led by Yoshe Watson of BBC Introducting was extremely well received with many particapants looking to further their skills in radio by volunteering to work with NNBC, Northampton’s latest local radio station.
NNBC Station manager Terry Doyle said “We’re about providing a different, innovative listening experience, with quality speech content presented in an accessible style. Local speech content is what defines good local radio, yet it is expensive to create and difficult to sustain. NNBC solves that dilemma by engaging with students and involving them in the production of day to day output. NNBC’s partnership with the university gives students the chance to gain experience in all aspects of a real life radio environment while adding to the radio listening choice available to listeners in Northampton”
