From 1st to 3rd April 2016, Luke Sheehan and Megan Harman were fortunate enough to be part of the film crew that is documenting the journey of Team BRIT (British Racing Injured Troops). Team BRIT is a branch of KartForce which exists to provide injured service personnel and those suffering with PTSD the opportunity to race in adapted Karts, and to challenge civilians on a level playing field.
This weekend saw Team BRIT compete in the Hankook International 24hrs Touring Car Endurance Series at Silverstone.
Luke Sheehan said: “We set-up on Friday morning and began filming – qualifiers in the early afternoon, followed by a night practice from 19.30hrs to 21.00hrs.
As well as interviews we filmed the 24 hour race, including driver changes, a full gearbox change, and the chequered flag – this meant we were awake for 38 hours with just a couple of hours rest during the night.
We thoroughly enjoyed the weekend, and spending 3 days on camera filming an inspirational team was an amazing experience.”
Team BRIT are “The most successful injured troops in British motorsport aiming to be the first to race in the Le Mans 24hr”.
