Media and Journalism students Daniel Hart and Liam Osborne have been voted NU radio editor and deputy respectively.

The self confessed cheeky duo, have taken the helm of NU radio and promise to put it firmly on the map, just a few days into their tenure they’ve already started to build a new web site and develop a 24 hour streaming server for the station.

Daniel, a second year BA Media Production student won Best Partnership and Funniest Show at the 2016 NU awards for his Knitted Noose show with fellow student Rob Nesbitt,  typically he downplayed his success “It’s about two lads having some banter and playing some tunes on a radio show, doing something that we both love.”

Liam joined the BA Multimedia Journalism course last year and right off the bat had a passion for radio and surprised seasoned presenters by winning Best Male this year. “The best thing about radio is it’s spontaneous nature, and that is what my show is all about.” he said.

“This year we want to go for the National Student Radio Association Awards. We’ve got some amazing shows and a fantastic vibrant group of students here and we really want to shout about it.” Liam enthused. “We’re going to make this the best student radio station in the country, don’t underestimate us… We’re going for this.” Daniel added.

We’ll be post more details about their progress through the year but for now check out the NU Facebook page for more info:
