This film festival site takes the concept of a festival, turns it on it’s head and puts on a social media spin. The Hidden Film Festival 2013 line-up to be announced… never.
An unknown line-up. Discover an unknown gem.
Who and what are we?
The Hidden Film Festivals Worldwide are being put on in partnership with its sister company, The Film Festival Guild. The FFG run four internationally acclaimed film festivals including The British Independent Film Festival and The British Horror Film Festival.
The Hidden Film Festivals Worldwide are a completely new type of film festival meant to give independent film maximum exposure and generate a loyal fan base before a film has even screened.
HFF understands that social media is an integral part of a film’s PR campaign. So what we’ve done is set up an exciting platform to draw an audience for new independent film both before and after it screens. The goal of the festival is to generate buzz for a film through online hype, word of mouth and an exclusive screening that everyone will be trying to get tickets to.
How does it work?
The festival will take place over the course of July 2013 in a new city each Saturday of the month. This year we will be screening in Dublin, Paris, London and Toronto. Audience members will buy a ticket to each respective screening and have no idea what films they are about to see. Before and after their screenings, audience members will be encouraged to share their thoughts on each independent film they’ve seen and the event itself. We will be setting up several easy to use platforms to make this fun and easy.
Some Points for Filmmakers and Audience Members:
Industry press will not be invited. Instead we are encouraging everyone to get online and write, tweet and blog about what they have seen or what they think they will be seeing. Inviting press takes away the eligibility of a film to premiere at a larger festival, instead we want to generate buzz so that films can get into those festivals and have strong public awareness to assist their Premiere in being an event, not just a screening.
BE A PART OF THAT MOVEMENT.
We are after independently made films that have never screened before, but also ones that have and are in need of a buzz resurge.
