72 Hour competition entry form 2018

To enter your team fill out the form at the bottom of this post, be sure to read the rules below first.

Rules:

Each film must contain a number of elements which will be drawn on the day (by the participants).

Duration: Films should be no shorter than 60 seconds and no longer than 5 minutes.

Possible Genres: Action/adventure, Comedy, Coming of age, Drama, Fantasy, Horror, Musical, Road Movie, Romance, Sci-fi, Silent Film, Western, and Film Noir.

Required Prop: Each team will be allocated a prop on the day. This must be seen, and should be an important element in the story.

Dialogue: Each team will draw a required line of dialogue, this must be heard to seen, within the film, it must be clear (or translated if foreign) it must not be put in the credits.

Required Character: Each team will be allocated a character, this will include a name, description of type, this does not need to be the main protagonist, but should be recognisable within the film.

Production Documents: Actors and Music, and Creative Commons releases should be submitted with your film.

Times: Film must be submitted within 72 hours of the deadline, failure to submit will disqualify the team from the awards, but may be shown at a later date.

Creative Process: All work must take place within the competition time, including writing the script, rehearsing, shooting, editing, and sound design. Participants must not use any pre-recorded footage or enter work which has been created before the deadline (including stock footage, images or animations)

Safety: All crew, actors and participants must work safely, any teams failing to do so will be disqualified.

Animals: Any film that cause the harming of an animal will be disqualified.

Cameras: Any type of videos may be used.

Credits: These do not count towards your duration time. (do not include bloopers or production logos)
These should include all persons who have crewed and acted within your film.

Sound levels:
Please master your audio to -6db.

Required Media Formats:
– A self contained HD Quicktime file.
– A H264 MP4 HD file.
(we recommend each team submit two copies of each film)

Licensing: By submitting to your film to the Northampton 72hour film competition you are entering into a non exclusive broadcast and distribution license with UonTV, UonMedia and The University of Northampton, who may choose to  broadcast your films online via their steaming TV channel or via Youtube. This means that your film may be shown online to promote your creative work and crew.
